Serious
fare, both hearty and light at seaside restaurant in Marshfield.
The cuisine is a surprise in a beach strip where you might expect
to find fried clams, here is an ambitious menu with au courant
presentations and sauces.

It
is a good omen when the first contact with a new restaurant is
in the parking lot as the owner runs out after a patron to give
her the scarf she left behind. That one act of over-the-top service
means management is on the job and willing to go the extra distance.

You
do not have to drive into Boston for a special occasion- not with
The Fieldston in Marshfield available. Owner Jan Perrin pays special
attention to each of his guests while his kitchen prepares such
dishes as venison with a currant and fig sauce. The setting is
dimly lit and romantic.

The
Fieldston, named for its ocean side neighborhood in Marshfield,
established a local reputation for fine cuisine soon after Jan
Perrin opened the inviting, intimate restaurant nine years ago.
Today, Perrin also serves as the executive chef . We are happy
to report-as Perrin plans to expand the tiny restaurant- that
The Fieldston is still the place to go for exemplary food, service
and ambiance.
